Sporecraft
Sporecraft is the first mod I’m developing for Minecraft. This is version 0.1.0. The mod currently adds a few different types of “fungus” to Minecraft. They are special blocks that spread to neighboring blocks in different ways, and some of the more useful ones also destroy themselves over time. It’s not totally finished yet, but in this current version, I have added crafting recipes which allow for them to be created in survival. I highly recommend that you use the fungi with extreme caution, especially the Spungus. They start spreading slowly, but they speed up quickly and can be very destructive. This version is for 1.18.

Fungus
This is the simplest fungus that exists in the mod, it is really only good for destruction and fun. All it does is spread to neighboring blocks, and then becomes dormant and preserves the shape. It only becomes destructive when the cleanser is used, which nearly instantly replaces the fungus and then destroys itself, leaving only a chasm behind. When the fungus spreads, blocks of fungus which can no longer move switch to dormant. Dormant fungus blocks are their own type of fungus, but as the name implies, they don’t do anything. However, if you destroy a dormant fungus block in survival mode, it will drop spores, which can be used in crafting.
Cleanser
Cleanser does what you’d think it does. It nearly instantly replaces all neighboring instances of fungus with itself, much faster than any other fungus can spread. Then it rapidly decays, leaving nothing behind. It works very well to prevent a fungus from getting out of control.
Mining Fungus
Mining fungus is also pretty self explanatory. It only spreads towards “filler” blocks like stone, deepslate, gravel, dirt, etc. The best part is that it leaves ores behind for you to collect. As it spreads, it also decays, which allows you to see which ores it has revealed.
